Lets get it out in the open right from the outset. The Lexus SC430 isnt trying to be a Mercedes-Benz SL. This is just as well as it falls quite a long way short of the SLs dynamic excellence. Despite a number of incremental revisions, the SC430 is never going to make a convincing sporting drop top.

The Lexus RX 400h is a hybrid automobile assembled by Toyota Motor Corp. under the Lexus brand name using Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive technology and the Lexus RX model design. It is called the Toyota Harrier Hybrid in Japan. After first being introduced in January 2004 at the North American International Auto Show, it would become the world's second mass-produced hybrid SUV, after the Ford Escape Hybrid. In November 2004, Toyota announced the American launch of hybrid Lexus SUV would be delayed to the 2006 model year, with European and Asian launches during 2006. The Toyota version of the same car debuted in Japan on 22 March 2005, the same day as the Toyota Highlander Hybrid. The RX 350 is Lexus’ second-generation midsize car-based luxury SUV, available in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Lexus introduced the RX 300 at the 1998 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit and the RX 300 became the best-selling Lexus model. In January 2003, the second-generation RX was unveiled at the NAIAS, renamed the RX 330 to reflect its larger-displacement engine. RX 330 production began in Japan and in September 2003 Lexus began production of the RX 330 at an assembly plant in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, the first Lexus model to be built outside of Japan. The RX 330 became the RX 350 for the 2007 model year with the addition of the 3.5-liter V6 engine.

Lexus is launching an all-new flagship luxury sedan this fall. The 2007 Lexus LS 460 will be boast the latest technology, including the world's first eight-speed automatic transmission, an air conditioning system that checks your body temperature to maintain the proper cabin temperature, and a system that automatically parks the car with the press of a button.
Its new exterior design is bolder and more stylish than the current LS 450, but it's an evolutionary design and readily identifiable as a Lexus.
This fourth-generation LS will be powered by a new and larger 4.6-liter V8 engine making 380 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque. Lexus has upped the ante with BMW and Mercedes by going their seven-speed transmissions one better with a new eight-speed automatic. Lexus says the new engine and transmission combine to deliver 0-60 times of less than 5.5 seconds, which is very quick. At the same time, Lexus said, it will get about 25 miles per gallon in combined city/highway driving, and meet California's ULEV II low-emissions standard.

The 2007 Lexus GS 450h is a 4-door, 5-passenger luxury sedan, available in one trim only, the Sedan.
Upon introduction, the GS 450h is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 339-horsepower, hybrid engine that achieves 25-mpg in the city and 28-mpg on the highway. A variable speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.

Lexus has unveiled the LS600h L — a performance hybrid version of its new flagship sedan — at the 2006 New York International Auto Show. Scheduled to arrive in Spring 2007, it will be the world's first vehicle of any class or category to feature a full hybrid V8 powertrain. The LS 600h will combine an all-new five-litre V8 gas engine with combined massive, high-output electric motors and a newly designed large-capacity battery pack. It will deliver a peak, combined output of more than 430 horsepower. As a SULEV-rated (Super Low Emissions) vehicle, LS600h is estimated to produce just 20 per cent of the smog-forming emissions of a conventional five-litre V8. Power is delivered to the wheels via a 2-stange ECVT transmission. It also has the first LED front headlights of any production vehicle.

As an alternative to executive offerings such as the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class, Lexus' GS300 never caught the eye of image-conscious motorists. However, second-hand buyers can cash in on this, because steep depreciation has made it one of the best value luxury cruisers available.
The GS300's main asset is that all the kit you could want is fitted as standard - leather, cruise control, air-conditioning, twin airbags, plus stability and traction control on models since 1998. Build quality is sublime, so they rarely go wrong, but watch for clocked cars by checking the mileage matches the service record.
